The project "south-east sewer Nuremberg" was realised in the middle of the city Nuremberg called Gleißhammer. The construction site was situated between the mainstreet and the railway line to the centre. During the pipe jacking the railway was crossed two times and the also the mainstreet.
There were two sections with 181 metres and 381 metres with reinforced concrete-pipes (inner diameter 2500 mm) to build.
A slurry TBM with gyrocompass and hydraulic water levelling was used for the section radius of 400m. The geology was hard rock with groundwater level 5 to 6 metres above the boring machine and the surface in maximum of 17 metres.
